DJ RAWLA PRESENTS… THE FUNK BREW

Posted in Uncategorized on May 4, 2010 by djrawla

Peace everyone:

It’s been a couple of months since I laced you with a Brew. The Ladies Brew was a a huge success. I had to step back and really dedicate some time and experimentation with the next Brew. I was planning on releasing the Funk Brew both as a digital download, and a CD. It’s been a struggle finding the right materials, printing process, and streamlined procedure for the physical copy. I decided to release the digital version as an advanced copy to my loyal listenersčÖé.
The Funk Brew has a little bit of everything, just like my traditional mixes. This particular mix delves a bit into the funkier side of making a Brew. Expect a Volume II in the future for the Funk as well as the Ladies’ Brew. The download is both a streaming one track version and a ZIP file with all the mp3s coded and tagged for your ipoding pleasure.

ENJOY!

Yearly Brew 2009

Posted in Uncategorized on December 25, 2009 by djrawla

Peace Y’all.

It’s been a minute since I laced you with a Weekly Brew. I had to fall back and refocus on the direction I wanted to take the Series into. With the end of 2009, though, i felt I needed to collaborate with my good friend DJ Lee on a 2009 compilation. I hate using the word ” best” as it’s an arbitrary and subjective term, so I will call this a Yearly Brew 2009. It’s a mix of stuff that Lee and myself thought were gems of the year. A little something for the ladies, the fellas, and everyone in between. The partygoer, the cool out folks, the older, the younger, and those that have an open ear for musica. Shoutouts to the homie Abe from BIGBADMEDIUM for the sick artwork. Definately appreciate the contribution. Check this man’s site out for tons of dope indie music. May 2010 fill you with much luck, prosperity, love, ambition, food, wine, and life. Paz

YEARLY BREW 2009.. ENJOY!

Diez, Ten, X.

So I’ve finally made it to the 10th installment. I should have been at around 16 or so by now, but do to personal obligations, setbacks, real-life obstacles, boredom, frustration, anger, contempt, motivation, and persistence, the 10th edition is among us. Nothing too crazy this time around, with the notable exception of Only Built For Cuban Linx 2 being featured. Unlike the rest of the hip-hop world, I will try my hardest to withhold listening to snippets. This album comes out next Tuesday the 8th, and I will be ready to purchase it first thing in the morning.
